About Move for Youth

A free activity challenge with a moving mission.

Move for Youth was created to bring the community together and show up for kids when they need us most.

During the pandemic, local kids needed extra support.

In 2020, National Bank recognized that kids were struggling. Their team approached United Way East Ontario and Centraide Outaouais about how they could partner to make a difference.

The result: Move for Youth. A free, two-week fitness challenge where every step raises awareness and support for vulnerable youth.

With support from our generous sponsors, corporate gifts, and donations, we have raised $331,304 for local kids!

Over the past four years, Move for Youth has doubled the money raised for youth in our community.

Last year we had our first in person kickoff event and we plan to do it again in 2025!

In 2024 we launched Move for Youth by gathering sponsors, partners, and supporters at Laroche Park. We came together to talk about the challenges facing youth and the solutions you make possible by supporting this activity challenge, then we started to get our steps in with a warm-up challenge and walk across the Chief William Commanda Bridge.

This year we have bold goals to hit 1,500 participants, 150 million steps, and $150,000 dollars!
